- The Lead: Assumption had its five-match winning streak snapped on Wednesday, as the Hounds fell 5-2 to New Haven on the road.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Assumption captured two of three doubles matches to open the contest with a 1-0 lead. Julia Chappell (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) teamed up with Ana Escudero (Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) for a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles while Veronica Op (Westford, Mass. / Westford Academy) and Valeria Sanchez (Carolina, P.R. / Colegio La Piedad) secured a 6-1 win at No. 3
- In singles action, Escuerdo was the lone Hound to earn a victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles. Both Camille Latoni (San Juan, P.R. / Academia Maria Reina) and Op took their matches to three sets, but were unable to earn victories at No. 3 and No. 6 singles.
