- The Lead: Assumption fought hard but was only able to come up with one point as the sixth seeded Hounds fell 4-1 to No. 3 Adelphi on Wednesday afternoon in the NE10 Quarterfinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- In doubles action, Assumption received a win by default at No. 3. The team nearly captured the doubles point with its play at No. 1 doubles, as Julia Chappell (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) and Maria Monje (Worcester, Mass. / Holy Name) kept it close before ultimately falling 7-6.

- In singles the Hounds fell in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 while winning No. 6 singles by default to trail 3-1. Assumption's loss at No. 4 singles by a 7-5, 6-2 margin provided the 4-1 victory for the Panthers while No. 5 singles went unfinished.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Assumption concludes its season with an 8-5 record after making its fifth straight NE10 Tournament appearance.
