- The Lead: Assumption opened its spring break trip to Hilton Head against a tough Tiffin squad, dropping all six singles matches before taking a pair of doubles contests as the team fell 7-2 on Monday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Assumption opened with singles play against Tiffin. Ryan Foster (Bloomfield, Conn. / Classical Magnet) put up a fight at No. 1 singles, before eventually falling 6-4, 6-2. Danny Waung (Bolton, Conn. / East Catholic) also lost at No. 3 singles, by a 6-1, 6-4 score.
- The Hounds' closest singles matchup game at No. 5, where Jameson Keppeler (Syracuse, N.Y. / CBA Syracuse) fell 6-4, 6-3 to Tiffin's Toby Cutting. Luke Whitehouse (Hopkinton, Mass. / Hopkinton) dropped his No. 6 singles battle 6-4, 6-0.
- In doubles play Assumption came through with two victories. The No. 2 team of Max Francis (West Barnstable, Mass. / Barnstable) and Waung earned a hard-fought victory 9-8, while Keppeler & Whitehouse secured an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles. No. 1 doubles fell dropped its match 8-4.
