- The Lead: The Assumption College men's tennis team faced Le Moyne and fell 9-0 in conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- At No. 1 singles, senior Ryan Foster (Bloomfield, Conn. / Classical Magnet) lost the first set 6-3 and bounced back to take the next one 6-4, but despite his efforts he dropped the third set 10-5. At No. 2 singles, Max Francis (West Barnstable, Mass. / Barnstable) lost 6-2, 6-3, and then Danny Waung (Bolton, Conn. / East Catholic) fell 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. singles. Junior Reb Mariano (New London, Conn. / Saint Andrew's School) faced Jason Barton at No. 4 singles and he was defeated 6-2, 6-2. The Dolphins took the No. 5 and No. 6 flights 6-3, 6-1 to take a 5-0 lead.
- Le Moyne took the 9-0 win after doubles play. Foster and junior Mariano fell 8-6 at No. 1 doubles while No. 2 doubles pair Waung and Francis were defeated 8-3. The Dolphins completed the sweep as they beat Jameson Keppeler (Syracuse, N.Y. / CBA Syracuse) and Luke Whitehouse (Hopkinton, Mass. / Hopkinton) 8-2 at the No. 3 flight.
