- The Lead: No.1 singles competitor senior Ryan Foster (Bloomfield, Conn. / Classical Magnet), and No. 2 doubles duo Danny Waung (Bolton, Conn. / East Catholic) and Reb Mariano (New London, Conn. / Saint Andrew's School) each picked up a win but ultimately fell 7-2 to Bentley on Thursday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Falcons claimed a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Mariano and Waung won 8-7 at No. 2 doubles while Foster and freshman Max Francis (West Barnstable, Mass. / Barnstable) fell 8-7 at No. 1 doubles. Freshman Luke Whitehouse (Hopkinton, Mass. / Hopkinton) and sophomore Erich Steiner (Rutland, Mass. / Montachusett Regional Vocation Technical School) lost 8-0 to Nicholas Hatcher and Kendall Au at the No. 3 flight.
- Foster took a win at the No. 1 flight as he defeated Brendan McCarthy 6-4, 6-2, but at No. 2 singles Francis fell 6-0, 6-0. Waung competed at No. 3 singles winning the first set 6-0 but dropped the next two 6-4, 10-8, while Mariano also took a 6-3, 6-1 loss at No. 4 singles. The Falcons claimed No. 5 and No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 respectively to win the match 7-2.
