-The Lead: The Assumption College men's golf team is in first place after round one of the Northeast-10 Championship in Endicott, N.Y. today. They are back on the En Joie Golf Club course tomorrow for the final 18 holes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Junior Andrew Sanzaro (Wethersfield, Conn. / Wethersfield) is leading the Hounds as he is tied for third place overall after round one of the NE10 Championship. He shot a 71 over the first 18 holes. Senior Mark Bryant (Hardwick, N.J. / North Warren Regional) is tied for sixth place, just one stroke behind Sanzaro, with a 72. Sophomore Lucas Roop (Gorham, Maine / Gorham) was a top-three performer for the Hounds, shooting a 74 as he is tied for 13th place overall.
-Sophomore Jonathan Farrell (Feeding Hills, Mass. / Saint Bernard's) is tied for 17th place, shooting a 75 today while senior Zach Magarian (Worcester, Mass. / West Boylston) shot an 82, tied in 44th place.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Assumption (292) is in first place after day one, leading by just one point over Southern New Hampshire (293). Le Moyne is in third after the first 18 holes with a team score of 294. Franklin Pierce, the College of Saint Rose, and Saint Michael's are all tied for fourth place with a score of 298. Bentley sits in seventh place (300), followed by Saint Anselm (305), Adelphi (309), and American International (317).
