-The Lead: The Assumption University women's tennis team fell at Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Tuesday afternoon. The Greyhounds slip to 3-6 on the season while the Penmen improve to 7-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Penmen won the doubles point taking all three matches over the Greyhounds. Sophomore Jessica Crosby (Westfield, Mass. / St. Mary's) and her classmate Yana Semerly (Okemos, Mich. / Okemos) put up the closest match, falling to Elizabeth Dwyer and Magdalena Hubickova, 6-3.
-SNHU swept singles play with the closest matchups coming at No. 4 and No. 5 singles.
-Junior Aimee Figgins (Milford, Mass. / Hopedale Jr./Sr. High School) forced three sets with her SNHU opponent, Isabella Andrade. She fell 6-1 in the first set, took the second set by a score of 6-3 and fell 10-2 in the final set.
-Semerly fought with Gunta Upeniece at No. 5 singles in three sets, but ultimately fell, 4-6, 7-5, 8-10.
