-The Lead: After winning the doubles point, the Assumption University women's tennis team fell to Bentley University in a battle at singles play. The Falcons claimed the 4-3 final Northeast-10 Conference victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Julia Chappell (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) and Cara McCormack (Worcester, Mass. / Doherty Memorial) teamed up at No. 1 doubles and outlasted Bentley's Adriana Hiraldo and Maria Mella, 7-5. Caitlin Sze (South Windsor, Conn. / South Windsor) and Yana Semerly (Okemos, Mich. / Okemos) clinched the doubles point with a dominating 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles. 

-Chappell also earned a victory at No. 1 singles over Makena Romagnano, 6-1 and 6-2. Bentley earned the win at No. 2 singles as Mella defeated Sze in three sets, 7-5, 0-6, 2-6.

-McCormack earned Assumption's second singles win with set scores of 6-1 and 7-6. 

-Semerly battled through three sets at No. 4 singles and ultimately fell to Bentley's Alessa Matuty.

-The Greyhounds are back in action at home on Sunday, September 19th in NE10 action with Saint Anselm at 12:00 p.m.
