Score: Assumption 68, Saint Michael's 67
Records: Greyhounds (4-3, 1-2 NE10), Purple Knights (6-2, 2-1 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption came out of the gate firing, with
Kani Glover burying three quick three-pointers to get the Greyhounds to a quick 14-7 lead. Assumption worked up to a 25-12 lead, which was their largest in the half. Saint Michael's slowly but surely worked their way back into the half, with Romar Reid doing work from beyond the arc and Joel Kabimba finding his way in the paint for eight points each.
Kani Glover finished the half with 12 points, and the second highest behind him was
Njavan Stewart with five. Unfortunately for Assumption, they did not finish the half exceptionally well, only shooting 26.8 percent from the field. The Purple Knights could string together a few stops and got the lead down to four points at halftime.
The second half was close as well, with the sides exchanging baskets. As the game crept closer to an end, Assumption was clinging to a lead that slowly dwindled to just one point. Saint Michael's had a chance with the game ending to win but missed at the buzzer. The Greyhounds hung on for a one-point victory in Worcester, 68-67.
