NORTH EASTON, Mass. – Despite being competitive, the Assumption University men's tennis team dropped its final match of the regular season to Stonehill by a 4-3 decision on Saturday afternoon.
Stonehill earned the initial point by winning all of the doubles matches and then utilized its depth to capture the bottom three singles matches which proved to be the difference.
Assumption (2-10, NE10 0-7) got its most notable effort from senior Ethan Hall (Duxbury, Mass.), who won a three-set marathon at No. 3 singles by scores of 1-6, 7-5, and 10-5. Senior Max Francis (West Barnstable, Mass.) took down his opponent at No. 1 singles by identical scores of 6-4, and junior Brady Ryan (Lynn, Mass.) was victorious from the No. 2 spot by retirement.
