HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started the contest on the attack, as they were able to score on their second shot of the game.
Ruben Faria's free kick from 30 yards out rang off the crossbar, and
Johannes Sundgot drove in the loose ball in the fourth minute of action. Moments later, the Greyhounds doubled their lead as
Daniel Paulsson recorded his first collegiate goal. Faria served the ball in from a low angle, which was flicked along by
Gustaf Vilgot Albert before being driven home by Paulsson, making it 2-0 Hounds.
Bentley would get on the board in the 35
th minute, as Ronan Fitzpatrick was able to capitalize on a penalty kick.
Coming out of the halftime break, Assumption would continue their attack and would eventually add an insurance goal in the 59
th minute. After a give-n-go with Faria in the corner, Sundgot carried the ball into the middle of the field and fired a left-footed shot that stung the left corner of the cage, making it 3-1 Greyhounds. Bentley applied the pressure late but were unable to get any closer.
