AMHERST, N.Y. – The Assumption University men's basketball team dropped their fourth-straight game, as the Greyhounds fell to Daemen University (N.Y.), 88-74 Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Daemen jumped out to an early lead, as led from the opening basket. The Wildcats' lead grew to double-digits (23-13, 11:25) following a Payton Shumpert three-pointer. The Daemen advantage would hover around ten points for the majority of the first half until the hosts went on an 11-0 run to expand their lead to 44-25 with 3:32 showing on the clock.
Njavan Stewart closed out the half with eight points in the final at 2:46, as Assumption would head into the half trailing 47-33.
The hosts would grow their lead to 21 points (64-43) with 12:39 remaining in the second half, but the Greyhounds would not go quietly. Assumption would go on an 18-5 run, with
Kani Glover accounting for 11 points over that span, as the Greyhounds got within eight (69-61, 7:44). The Wildcats responded with a 12-3 run, as they pushed their lead to 17 points (81-64), with 3:23 left in regulation. The Greyhounds closed the game on a 10-7 run, but they would come up short in the long run, as they dropped an 88-74 decision to the Wildcats.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kani Glover led the Greyhounds with 16 points, while Njavan Stewart (14) and Cal Connelly (10) scored double-digit points.
- Despite outrebounding the hosts 31-29, the Wildcats outscored the Greyhounds 42-28.
- Daemen scored 32 points off of 20 Assumption turnovers, while the Greyhounds scored 19 points off of 12 Wildcat turnovers.
