HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Rose came out on fire, storming out to an 11-0 run before Assumption could score any points. The Hounds responded with a 7-0 run, but Saint Rose continued to pile on the points as Nuha Sagnia converted his old-fashioned three-point play to make it 20-9. The Greyhounds fought to make it close, but Saint Rose closed the half on a 14-3 run to lead 34-20, with Kyle Hicks hitting a three-pointer right on the cusp of halftime.
Assumption attempted to close it at 17:14, with Alex Carlisle knocking down a three to get his fifth point on the night to cut the deficit to nine. He continued his play to the halfway point of the second half, converting on two free throws as the Hounds continued to play from behind. Assumption got it down to four multiple times, but the Golden Knights used free throws shooting down the stretch to extend their lead far enough that Assumption could not reach. The Golden Knights defeated the Hounds, 69-61.
