Box Score RINDGE, N.H. – The Assumption University men's basketball season has come to a close, as the Greyhounds fell in the Northeast-10 Conference First Round and dropped an 81-74 decision at Franklin Pierce University Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started fast, as they raced out to an early 5-1 lead. Franklin Pierce slowly chipped away at the deficit and would take their first lead of the ball game following a three-pointer by Mohamed Traore (10-8, 15:23). The Ravens would continue to hit their shots, while the Greyhounds went cold as the host's lead would grow to 13 points (27-14), halfway through the first half. Assumption would start to get stops as they would get within striking distance, as they dwindled the deficit from ten points (31-21, 5:31) to down to one (38-37) at halftime.
Kani Glover and
Isiah Gaiter led the way for the Greyhounds offensively, as they poured in 14 and ten points.
Franklin Pierce started strong in the second half, as they scored the first eight points. The Ravens continued to control the majority of the momentum in the second half, as their lead would grow as large as 14 points (68-54, 6:56). The Greyhounds would refuse to quit, as they got within six points (70-64, 2:32). Trailing by seven (75-68) in the final minute,
Njavan Stewart hit a pair of threes, to cut the deficit to four points (78-74, 0:25), but Franklin Pierce would hit seven of nine free throws down the stretch to secure an 81-74 first-round win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Isiah Gaiter led all scorers with 26 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Njavan Stewart and Kani Glover each chipped in 17 points.
- Assumption outrebounded Franklin Pierce, while the Ravens outscored the Blue and White 48-26 in the paint.
- The Ravens turned 22 Greyhound turnovers into 20 points, while Assumption scored 12 points off 11 FPU miscues.
