HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds came out on fire in the first quarter, scoring three straight goals to take a 3-0 lead with just 3:06 gone off the clock. The Owls got two back and trailed 3-2 after the first quarter.

The second quarter showed the home team found their groove a bit more offensively while also slowing down the Assumption offense. Southern Connecticut scored two to open it up until Kyle Johnston responded with her first of the game, assisted by Jenna Joseph. Isabelle Edwards scored her second on the game with 3:55 remaining in the half, but Kelly Jagodzinski quickly answered it 33 seconds later to give the Owls the lead. On the stroke of halftime, Caitlyn Reilly scored her first on the day, and the Hounds and Owls were tied 6-6 at halftime.

The third period was very low scoring, and the stats were very similar, with Assumption leading the shots 22-18 towards the end of the third quarter. Kyle Johnston scored with 7:03 left in the third quarter, and it was answered by the Owls four minutes later. Joseph added another to give Assumption an 8-7 lead with one minute remaining in the third.

Assumption was in control of the fourth quarter and had a three-goal stretch across eight minutes of action that helped see out the game and give them their sixth conference victory on the season.
