MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Assumption University women's cross country team was voted to finish seventh in the Northeast-10 Conference, as announced on Wednesday afternoon by the league office.
Southern New Hampshire University tallied 118 points and ten first-place votes from opposing head coaches, besting both Saint Anselm (104 points) and Adelphi (101 points) for the top position. The Penmen have been tabbed NE10 favorites for the second-consecutive time - including last year when the program won the NE10 Championship and claimed three of the top seven finishes among individual runners.
Saint Anselm and Adelphi both earned one first-place vote. Southern Connecticut (97 points) and Franklin Pierce (72 points) rounded out the top five in the poll.
The NE10 Cross Country Championships are scheduled for Sunday, October 22, at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass., and will be hosted by American International College.
