WORCESTER, Mass – The Assumption University men's basketball team could not overcome a poor shooting night, as the Pace University Setters came away with a 66-47 Northeast-10 Conference win at Laska Gymnasium Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was as defensive as it gets in Worcester, as the Setters and Greyhounds struggled offensively in the first 20 minutes. Despite a good start, with Assumption scoring eight points to lead 8-2 in the first 3 minutes, they would score ten more points in the entirety of the half. Despite the low shooting numbers, the visitors could not take advantage of it either, as they could only build the lead to seven, which would be the difference at the break with the Setters leading 25-18. Chaz Harvey led the way with seven for the Setters, while Kasey Draper led with nine. Assumption shot 15.6 percent from the field in the first half, while Pace shot 28.1 percent.
 
Despite a better offensive half, Assumption still struggled to pull back into the game. The Setts extended to 12 before Njavan Stewart answered with a stepback for his seventh point on the night. Throughout the half, the Setters stayed comfortable with a double-digit lead. With five minutes remaining, Pace put the salt in the wound, pushing on a quick six-point run to increase by 20 across a minute of play. Kyle Gaskins and Trent Santos provided an energy spark off the bench in the late stages, but Assumption would fall 66-47 at home.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Kasey Draper led all scorers with 16 points while pulling down seven rebounds. Kani Glover was the only other Greyhound in double-figures for points with tens, but he also snagged a game-high nine boards.
• Pace had the slight advantage on the glass, 47-42, but Assumption had five blocks to just two for the visitors.
• The Greyhounds shot 21.3 (13-for-61) from the field, while the Setters shot 39.3 percent (24-for-61).
• Assumption still leads in the all-time series to 22-12
