WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 21 nationally ranked Assumption University women's lacrosse team fell to Roberts Wesleyan University 13-11 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Roberts Wesleyan started with two goals early from Lucy Rugaber and Annie Mulhall for the early lead. However, Assumption replied with
Isabelle Edwards and
Kyle Johnston scoring. The Redhawks scored four more goals in the quarter to lead 6-2 after one.
Assumption outscored the Redhawks 4-2 in the second quarter, with
Olivia Catanzarite starting it at 13:24. After a goal from the visitors,
Jenna Joseph scored two in less than a minute to get Assumption within two. Both sides added one more before the break, as the Redhawks led 8-6 at halftime.
The third quarter started with an early goal from Joseph. However, the Redhawks answered with four-straight to control the quarter and take a 12-7 lead into the final 15 minutes of the game. The Redhawks extended it to 13-7, but that would be their last goal of the game. Assumption came close to a comeback in the final frame, as
Katelynn Johnston had a hattrick, and Anikka Pyy added a goal. However, the visitors were able to hold off the Hounds and close out with a 13-11 win on the road.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Skylar Troyan recorded seven saves for the hosts.
- Jenna Joseph and Katelynn Johnston each netted three goals apiece, while Joseph paced the team with three assists and six points.
- Assumption outshot Roberts Wesleyan 34-24.
