WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 22 Assumption University women's lacrosse team recorded their first Northeast-10 Conference win of the year, as the Greyhounds defeated Saint Michael's College 19-10 Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds started fast, scoring the first six goals in the opening 7:32 of the contest. Saint Michael's responded with two goals, by
Grace Chicko closed out the first quarter, giving Assumption a 7-2 lead through 15 minutes.
After a quick goal from the Purple Knights, The Greyhounds answered with four of the following five goals to go up 11-4 before the hosts scored in the final 70 seconds of the first half, sending the two teams into the intermission, with the Blue and White up 11-5.
Assumption came into the second half on the attack, scoring the first three goals to push the advantage to 14-5. The Purple Knights added one goal at the 2:36 mark, which was quickly answered by
Kyle Johnston, who regained a nine-goal lead (15-6) for the Greyhounds in 45 minutes.
In the fourth quarter, the two teams alternated goals for the remainder of regulation, but the Greyhounds picked up a 19-10 win at Saint Michael's.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Skylar Troyan and Healey Torres combined to record 12 saves.
- Kyle Johnston led all scorers with five goals, while Isabelle Edwards recorded three goals and four points.
- Assumption outshot Saint Michael's 38-28 while winning 20-of-33 draw controls.
- The Greyhounds were a perfect 12-for-12 on clearing attempts, while the Purple Knights went 11-for-15.
- Assumption now leads the all-time series 16-12.
