WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University softball team recorded a Sunday Sweep of Franklin Pierce University, winning game one 6-3 and game two 2-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action at Normand Marois '57 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE – Assumption University 6, Franklin Pierce University 3
Assumption got on the board early. They plated a pair of runs in the top of the first inning.
Kaitlyn Cahill had an RBI triple to right field, scoring
Lauren Geremia on the play.
Grace Heim drove in Cahill with a single to left, making it 2-0 after the first.
The Greyhounds broke the game open at the bottom of the second, scoring four runs in the frame. Geremia singled home
Abigail Larson before
Jordan Dwyer crossed the plate on a fielder's choice. Geremia and Cahill came around to score on another fielder's choice and a throwing error by the Raven's catcher. Franklin Pierce would get on the board in the top of the third and two more runs in the seventh, but Assumption's defense would hold firm and pick up a 6-3 win in game one.
Anna Tassone went the distance to pick up her seventh win of the year. She struck out three and allowed two earned runs.
GAME TWO – Assumption University 2, Franklin Pierce University 0
The Greyhounds scored in the bottom of the second, as
Heather Junjulas drove in
Summer Sheerin with a sacrifice fly to left field. Cahill doubled the Assumption advantage in the third, hitting an inside-the-park homerun and circling the bases with her base knock to left center field.
Franklin Pierce had their scoring chances, but
Kaelin Waldron extinguished any scoring opportunity for the Ravens, as she went the distance and had one strikeout and scattered five hits.
