SPARKILL, N.Y. - The Assumption University men's soccer team was handed a 4-0 defeat by St. Thomas Aquinas College on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
St. Thomas Aquinas opened the scoring early when Sebastian Ortega found the net at the 4:46 mark. The Spartans doubled their lead in the first half with an unassisted goal by Kevon Evans. Elias Ait Bouali and Evans added' tally in the second half to the Spartans, sealing the 4-0 win. The Greyhounds could not convert any of their 12 total shots, with only three hitting the target.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Greyhounds were outshot 23-12, with 11 shots on goal by the Spartans compared to Assumption's three.
- Assumption committed 27 fouls compared to 19 for St. Thomas. The most fouls the team committed in 2023 was 16–also against Saint Thomas.
- Iver Sjåvåg made seven saves in the loss.
- This was the Greyhounds' first loss to the Spartans, since September 7, 2011 (0-2)
