Football and Field Hockey take home four NE10 Weekly Awards

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University field hockey team collected three of the four Northeast 10 Conference weekly awards, while Tindell Frick earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for Football, as announced by the Conference office Monday afternoon. 

NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Tindell Frick, Assumption
Senior | Defensive Line | Duxbury, Mass.

Frick continues to be a one-man wrecking crew for Assumption, as he doubled his season sack total with 4.0 sacks against Pace, in a 24-7 win. He also added 10 tackles, more than half of which were for a loss of 31 yards. Frick led the Greyhounds' defense that allowed -20 yards in the second half. He ranks second nationally with 8.0 sacks.  

NE10 Player of the Week

Elle Murray, Assumption
Senior | Forward | Worcester, Mass.

Murray extended her point streak to five games, as she recorded a goal and added an assist on a week that Assumption went 2-0 against two of the top teams in the conference. She began the week with the opening goal in a 3-1 win against Bentley University, before capping it off with an assist of the game-winning goal against No. 9 Saint Anselm College. 

NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

Racquel Provost, Assumption
Junior I Back | Leyden, Mass.

Provost played every minute of Assumption's 2-0 week with wins over Bentley University and Saint Anselm College. She led a defense that allowed Bentley to have only four shots on goal in their midweek matchup, before shutting out Saint Anselm by allowing nine shots on target. 

NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

Paige Gillette, Assumption
Senior I Andover, Mass.

Gillette pushed her winning streak to five games, following a 2-0 week with wins over Bentley University and Saint Anselm College. She opened the week with three saves against Bentley in a 3-1 win for Assumption, before shutting out No. 9 Saint Anselm with nine stops.

  • Football (4-1, 3-0 NE10) look to extend their winning streak to five games, as they travel to Connecticut to take on Post University on Saturday, October 18th at noon. 
  • Field Hockey (7-5, 6-1 NE10) is at home on Tuesday to host Pace University, before traveling to Adelphi on Saturday.
