BUFFALO, N.Y. —Assumption men's basketball is back in the NCAA East Regional Tournament for the first time in 12 years, playing as the sixth seed. They will take on a familiar face from the NE10, third-seeded Southern New Hampshire University, on Saturday, March 15, at 12:00 pm in the Lumsden Gymnasium on the campus of Daemen University.
No. 6 Assumption University Greyhounds
THE SEASON TO THIS POINT
Record: 19-9 (14-6 NE10), 9-6 at home, 10-3 on the road
- The Greyhounds had three players nominated with season award: Daeuda Dembele was named to the Second Team and All-Defensive Team, Njavan Stewart was named to the Third Team, and Lenny Tangishaka was honored on the All-Rookie Team.
- Assumption has the top-ranked offense (80.4 PPG) in the Northeast-10 Conference, while ranking sixth in points allowed per game (73.8)
- The Greyhounds have been known for their balance this season, ranking in the top ten nationally in bench points per game (8th—36.93). The Hounds are also ranked in the top 25 nationally in fast break points (12th — 17.82) and blocks per game (22nd—4.3)

POSTSEASON HISTORY
- Assumption is making its 28th appearance in the National Dance. They were 36-30 in those games and won five straight regional titles (1971-1975).
- The last time the Greyhounds were in the East Regional (2012-2013), they were also matched up against SNHU in the quarterfinal, but with the seeds reversed. No. 3 Assumption played to a 73-65 win over No. 6 SNHU. The Hounds were eliminated in the semifinal by No. 7 Bridgeport by a close score of 58-56.

THE SEASON TO THIS POINT
Record: 21-8 (14-6 NE10), 13-3 at home, 8-4 on the road, 0-1 at neutral.
- The Penmen had a pair of players represented with Northeast-10 season awards. Kurtis Henderson made the First Team, and Paul Greene was recognized on the Second Team.
- Southern New Hampshire ranked 7th in offense in the NE10 (72.8 PPG) while ranking third defensively, allowing (70.3 PPG)
- Despite their success this season, SNHU is not ranked inside the top 50 in any team statistic.

POSTSEASON HISTORY
- Southern New Hampshire appears in the NCAA Regional for the 27th time and returns to the tournament as defending champions.
- 2023-24: Defeated Bloomfield 75-70 in the Quarterfinal, defeated Post 69-64 in the Semifinal, and won the Regional Championship 73-61 over Saint Michael's. The Penmen went on to the "Elite Eight" Quarterfinals at Evansville, IN, ultimately falling to Nova Southeastern 68-60.
- SNHU has an All-Time NCAA Tournament Record of 31-22.
