COLCHESTER, VT. – The Assumption University women's lacrosse team dropped their third-straight game, as the Greyhounds fell in overtime at Saint Michael's College, Tuesday afternoon in Northeast 10 Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first quarter, the two teams traded goals with
Ava MacDonald,
Emily Abendroth, and Chloe Sconavacca finding the back of the goal for Assumption. The Greyhounds controlled the second quarter, as they outscored Saint Michael's 3-0, with
Kyle Johnston, MacDonald, and
Margaret Loeber scoring.
Coming out of halftime, the hosts scored the first two goals of the frame, trimming the deficit down to 6-5. Assumption responded with three straight to go up 9-5. Saint Michael's closed out the quarter with back-to-back tallies in the final minute to get back within two (9-7), heading into the fourth quarter. The Purple Knights refused to go away, as they would score both goals in the frame, including the game-tying goal with 51 seconds left in regulation, forcing the game to head to overtime. In the extra session, the Greyhounds would outshoot the Purple Knights 4-1, but the one shot from the hosts proved to be the difference, as Ginnie Hamilton netted the game-winner with 1:46 left in the first overtime session.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Grace Cashman recorded eight saves.
- Margaret Loeber led the way offensively with two goals and two assists, while Chloe Scornavacca added two scores and one helper.
- Assumption outshot Saint Michael's 33-25, while also winning 12-of-21 draw controls.
- The Greyhounds still lead the all-time series 17-13.
