NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - With the season right around the corner, the Assumption University men's indoor track & field team was picked fourth in the Coaches Preseason Poll. At the same time, the women's side was selected to finish sixth, as announced by the Northeast 10 Conference on Wednesday afternoon.
The men's side brings back all four of their all-region selections from last year's squad,
Zachary Carey (men's javelin),
Hunter Corthell (men's javelin),
Taber Lawler (men's javelin), and
Miguel Torres (men's decathlon), while adding 24 freshmen to their roster of 70.
The women's squad brought back one of their two all-region selections in
Rose Connolly (women's steeplechase), while also adding 14 fresh faces to their overall size of 42 student-athletes.
The Greyhounds began their season on March 26
th with a strong showing at the SNHU Spring Open. Assumption will compete in six more events before the Northeast 10 Conference Championship, May 1-2, at Southern Connecticut State University.
