WORCESTER, Mass.– The Assumption University women's lacrosse team saw their season come to an end, as the Greyhounds fell to Saint Anselm College 11-8 in the Northeast 10 Conference First Round, on Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Anselm was the first team to score, as Ayla McDermod scored at 9:04 of the first quarter.
Annie Ettenhofer got Assumption on the board, with her 19
th goal of the season, 30 seconds later. The Hawks regained the lead with back-to-back tallies to go up 3-1, before
Aleigh Thompson and
Molly Trahan responded for the Greyhounds to tie the game at 3-3. Saint Anselm would regain the lead before the end of the first quarter, as Lucy Mawn scored in the final minute.
The scoring slowed down in the second quarter, as both sides netted a pair of goals, with
Margaret Loeber and Trahan scoring for the Blue and White, sending the game to halftime, with the Hawks leading 6-5.
The visitors would come out of the intermission with momentum, as they outscored Assumption 4-1 in the frame, with Loeber netting the lone goal for the Hounds. In the fourth quarter, Trahan and Johnston would find the back of the cage for Assumption, but the lead was too large to overcome, as they would fall 11-8 in the NE10 First Round.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Grace Cashman recorded nine saves in the contest.
- Molly Trahan led Assumption with three goals and added an assist for four points, while Kyle Johnston had one goal and two assists.
- Both teams fired 29 shots, while Assumption had the slight edge in draw control, 11-of-21.
- Saint Anselm now leads the all-time series 18-11.
