WORCESTER, Mass. – Five Assumption University spring sport programs are in the top six of the NCAA regional rankings. Men's Tennis (4
th), Women's Tennis (6
th), Men's Lacrosse (6
th), Men's Golf (2
nd), and Men's Track & Field (4
th) are all in consideration of NCAA Postseason play.
Men's Tennis
The Greyhounds are ranked fourth in the region, as they earned it a share of the league regular-season crown for the first time since 2006-07, a season that was the last of a nine-year run as both regular- and postseason league winners. The now 10 regular-season titles are the most in NE10 annals, as are Assumption's nine postseason trophies.
The Blue and White had six players named to the All-Conference teams, as
Luigi Bassani and
Luca Figueiredo were named to the All-NE10 First Team No. 2 Doubles team, while
Michele Elia, Igor Kulbaka, Bassani,
Herman Aguirre, and
Alec Pijnacker were all named to the All-NE10 Second Team.
Women's Tennis
The Women's Tennis team is ranked sixth in the region after falling to top-seeded Adelphi University in the NE10 Championship match on Tuesday.
The Greyhounds had five All-NE10 selections, as
Darja Trinerova and
Beren Vapur were named to the All-NE10 First Team, while
Laurence Bosmans made her way onto the Second Team.
Marian Aguirre found her way on the Third Team, while the combinations of Bosman/Trinerova and Aguirre/
Madison Ericson were recognized in doubles action.
Men's Lacrosse
The Hounds are ranked sixth once again, after moving up in the USILA National Coaches Poll to No. 15 and topping Saint Michael's College 10-9 in an overtime thriller in the Northeast 10 Conference First Round.
Boomer Staunton headlined the All-Conference selections, as he was named the NE10 Offensive Player of the Year and to the All-NE10 First Team, while
Ben McHugh,
Trent Sargent, and
Shane Corcoran were selected to the All-NE10 Second Team.
Patrik McGrath was picked to the third team, while
Kevin Chrabascz and
Patrick Johnston found their way onto the All-Rookie Team.
Men's Golf
The Men's Golf team will head to the NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional in May, as they were ranked second in the East Region. The Greyhounds finished off the regular season by winning two of the final three invitationals, as they won the Hawks Invitational at Candia Woods Golf Course and the Penmen Spring Invitational at Derryfield Country Club.
Ryan Willey capped off the spring season with a program record 66 in the opening round of the Penmen Season Finale at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.
Men's Track & Field
The men's track& field team is ranked fourth in the East Region. The Greyhounds are led by
Zachary Carey, who has the second-best javelin throw in the region, as his throw of 57.21m at the SNHU Spring Invitational is the high mark for the season. The 4x100 relay team of
Shane Pritchard,
DJ Chaudhry,
Joel Spaulding, and
Jalen Smith-Phillip is fourth, while Chaudhry (400m),
Miguel Torres (Javelin),
Craig Gnatek (Shot Put), and
Joel Spaulding (100m) also rank in the top five.

- Men's Tennis (11-8, 8-2 NE10) will take on Southern New Hampshire University in the NE10 Semifinals on Thursday, April 30th, at the Goffstown YMCA.
- Women's Tennis (16-10, 9-3 NE10) will wait to see whether it makes the NCAA Tournament, as the selection show is Monday, May 4, at 8:00 pm.
- Men's Lacrosse (11-4, 5-3 NE10) will take on the two-time defending national champions, Adelphi in the NE10 Semifinals, on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 pm.
- Men's Golf will compete in the 2026 NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship tournament, set for May 8-10 in Johnston, Pennsylvania.
- Men's Track & Field will take on the rest of the Northeast 10, as they will compete in the NE10 Championship on Friday, May 1 at Southern Connecticut State Unviersity.
