GOFFSTOWN, N.H. — For the first time since the 2007 season, the Assumption University men's tennis team will be playing for a Northeast 10 Conference Championship, as the Greyhounds defeated Southern New Hampshire University 4-3, with
Jakob Bordt taking the match point at No. 6 singles, in the NE10 Semifinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started strong as
Alec Pijnacker and
Kristoffer Podenphant cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles, but Southern New Hampshire would bounce back to win the doubles point.
In singles action, the Penmen took a 2-0 edge after winning No. 2 singles, before
Michele Elia got the Greyhounds on the board with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles.
Luca Figueiredo tied the match at 3-2 with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win at top-flight singles, before
Igor Kubalka put the pressure on Southern New Hampshire with a 6-7, 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 4. The Penmen tied the match up with a 6-3, 6-3 win, with the match deciding point coming down to No. 6 singles.
In the battle of
Jakob Bordt and Noah Cadilhac, it was Cadilhac who took the opening set 7-6 with a 7-5 tie breaker. Bordt fought back to take the second set 6-3, forcing a decisive third set, with the winner advancing to the NE10 Championship game. In the
