WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's tennis team is in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history, as the Greyhounds will take on Wilmington University of Delaware on Friday afternoon in Flushing, N.Y.
No. 5 Assumption University Greyhounds
THE SEASON TO THIS POINT
Record: 16-10 (9-3 NE10), 6-2 at home, 7-4 on the road, 3-4 at neutral sites.
- This is the first time that Assumption has reached the NCAA Tournament in program history.
- Assumption fell in the Northeast 10 Conference Championship to Adelphi University 4-1.
- The NE10 Championship was the first time that the Greyhounds reached the conference title match since the 1991-92 season.
- Darja Trinerova and Beren Vapur were named to the All-NE10 First Team, while Laurence Bosmans made her way onto the Second Team. Marian Aguirre found her way on the Third Team, while the combinations of Bosman/Trinerova and Aguirre/ Madison Ericson were recognized in doubles action.
- The Greyhounds have made it three-straight seasons with 10+ wins, the first time since they had 10+ from 2015-2018.

- This is Assumption's first trip to the NCAA Tournament.
No. 4 Wilmington University (Del.) Wildcats
THE SEASON TO THIS POINT
Record: 15-4 (8-2 CACC), 9-2 at home, 6-2 on the road, 0-0 at neutral.
- Wilmington made the NCAA Tournament after winning the CACC Championship after upsetting No. 1 seed, Jefferson, 4-2 back in the fall.
- The Wildcats won their fifth-straight conference championship.
- Wilmington had four All-CACC players, headlined by Co-Player of the Year Siana MacDonald. She was joined on the First Team by Molly Carlberg and Ming-Fu Chen. Freshman Elena Camacho earned a spot as an All-CACC Second Team
POSTSEASON HISTORY
- This is Wilmington's sixth NCAA Appearance.
- The Wildcats are 2-5 all-time in the national tournament.
