WORCESTER, Mass. - The Assumption University men's soccer team fell to Roberts Wesleyan University 2-1 in their season opener Saturday afternoon at Normand R. Marois '57 Field.

Assumption was the first team to score, as
Evan Fletcher freed
Cody Holbert on a long pass, and he scored with a low driving shot into the left corner of the cage in the ninth minute. Roberts Wesleyan found the equalizer in the 39
th minute, as Sebastian Guerrero capitalized on a misplayed ball by the Greyhounds' defense, tying the game at 1-1.
The game would remain tied until the 69
th minute, as Mustafa Alshadeedi scored off a set piece, with Louis Ferrari and Archie Murphy picking up the assists on the play. Assumption would have a few scoring chances in the final 20-minutes of action, but they could not find the equalizer.
