WORCESTER, Mass. – Luca Figueiredo took home the Northeast 10 Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week award, while
Bianca Georgescu earned NE10 Rookie of the Week on the women's side, as announced Tuesday afternoon.
Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Luca Figueiredo, Assumption
Sophomore | Maputo, Mozambique
Figueiredo went 2-0 this week against Saint Michael's in both top flight singles and doubles. He won doubles with
Luigi Bassani 6-3, before winning 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 in singles action.
Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Bianca Georgescu, Assumption
Freshman | Windsor, Ontario
Georgescu was perfect 4-0 this week, going 2-0 in top-flight doubles and 2-0 in No. 3 singles action. At Merrimack, she won 7-6 with
Darja Trinerova before winning singles action 7-5, 6-4. In the NE10 opener, she once again won doubles 6-2, before pulling off a 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 6-3 comeback win.
