Worcester, Mass. (December 16) -- The
Assumption College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
recently held its First Annual Dodgeball Tournament in the
Plourde Recreation Center, with all proceeds going to the
Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“I’m very proud of the SAAC members and how they
came together this year to establish the First Annual Dodgeball
Tournament,” said Christine Lowthert,
associate director of athletics and recreation for
compliance. “They came up with this idea at their first
meeting this year, and to see if play out so successfully is truly
a great accomplishment.”
The tournament featured nearly 250 participants, with Team
Heriveaux eventually claiming the championship title. The event,
which raised $738 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, is one of many
that are organized by the Assumption SAAC each year as part of a
comprehensive, department-wide community service effort.
“After seeing the success of this Dodgeball
Tournament, I’m looking forward to seeing the SAAC members
continue to achieve excellence in the community,” said
Lowthert.
