Worcester, Mass. -- The Assumption College
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently hosted a Bone
Marrow Registration drive at the Hagan Campus Center at Assumption.
The registration drive was a tremendous success, with more than 400
students registering at the event.
“I am so proud of the student-athletes for the effort and
energy they put into this event,” said Associate Director of
Athletics Bethany Ellis. “They really grew to recognize the
potential in what they could do as a group, with a lot of credit
going to their word-of-mouth campaign and using social media as a
tool to increase turnout.”
With the large turnout and the hard work put in by the student
athletes, Ellis expressed excitment with the way the event went,
and the potential is has to help people who are in need of a
transplant.
“The bone marrow registration drive was a huge success,
not only for our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the
College, but hopefully for any number of potential people awaiting
a match who could be helped by someone in our community.”
