Prior to Assumption: Played soccer in high school. Also played for Santa Cruz FC (NPSL).  Made All-State first-team RIIL DII, and NEPSAC best XLHM. 

Personal Life: Son of Pasha and Mike DeFreitas. Has two siblings: Madison and Mason.
