In Mayer's first season as Head Coach, the Hounds exceeded expectations and made a Cinderella run to the Northeast-10 Championship. The season was back and forth until the latter half of the year, where the Greyhounds started to pick up more wins to close out the year and get a spot in the tournament. They made the tournament as a #7 seed where they upset Le Moyne College in the First Round 3-2. They continued their run against Franklin Pierce, defeating the Ravens 8-2. In the Semifinals, they took on Bentley University, who they previously swept on the road. Once again, they took down the Falcons 2-0 to advance to the Championship. Their run ended there, but it was a historic run nonetheless. The Greyhounds were the highest seed to reach the championship since No. 6 American International lost in the finals in 2010. They are also the first team to defeat both the number two and three seeds since Le Moyne did it in 2009. Assumption had four players named to Northeast-10 All-Conference teams, which included Jordan Dwyer, Corin Mahan, Summer Sheerin and Kaitlyn Cahill. Dwyer, Mahan, and Sheerin were named to All-NE10 Second Team while Cahill earned spots on theThird Team, All-Defensive, and All-Rookie teams.
