Rob Ensling

Ensling brings more than two decades of coaching, leadership, and aquatics management experience to Worcester, having developed athletes at the club, high school, and collegiate levels throughout New England. Most recently, he served as Head Coach of Men's and Women's Swimming and Aquatics Director at Albertus Magnus College, where he led a rapid turnaround of the program by restructuring team culture, training systems, and recruiting operations. During his first season, the Falcons broke 10 school records and produced a three-event conference champion.

"I am proud to announce and welcome Rob as the next head coach of our swim programs,” stated Assumption Director of Athletics Eric Gobiel. “He is an experienced collegiate and club coach who brings a dynamic presence and energy to the pool deck. Throughout the interview process, it was clear Rob has a strong vision for our programs and student athletes, and we greatly look forward to helping him achieve that vision in the years to come."

Ensling also serves as the Owner and Director of Competitive Aquatics for Northeast CT Aquatics, where he has overseen all aspects of the organization's operations since 2015. Under his leadership, numerous student-athletes have advanced to collegiate swimming programs at institutions including Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Columbia, Bentley, Iona, Middlebury, Colby, Southern Connecticut State, and others. He currently manages programming for more than 80 athletes while overseeing staff development, recruiting, marketing, and athlete performance initiatives.

In addition to his club coaching experience, Ensling recently served as an Assistant Swim Coach at Central Connecticut State University during the 2024-25 season, helping the Blue Devils earn Northeast Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors. His coaching background also includes serving as Head Coach at South Windsor High School and East Catholic High School, where he guided numerous All-Conference, All-State, All-American, state champion, and open champion swimmers.

Prior to his collegiate coaching experience, Ensling spent several years as Aquatic Director at Star Hill Family Athletic Center, overseeing departmental budgets, facility operations, staff management, programming, and community engagement initiatives. He also held coaching positions with the Greater Hartford YMCA, where he helped establish and grow a new competitive swimming program.
