Worcester, Mass. (November 22) – The Ice Dogs defeated Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Michael's College, 3-2, on a last second goal by Pat O'Kane (Hollis, N.H./Bishop Guertin) at the Buffone Arena on Tuesday evening. The Ice Dogs didn't hold a lead until O'Kane beat Saint Michael's goaltender Eric McGuirk, with one second remaining on the clock, to give the Ice Dogs the victory.

The Purple Knights took an early victory on a shorthanded goal by Brady Earle in the first period. The goal was assisted by Connor Logan. Dan Pelletier extended that lead at the 7:58 mark in the second period off passes from Earle and Sam Torney, giving the Purple Knights a 2-0 lead with the power play marker.

Assumption chipped away two minutes later, when senior forward Taylor Larsen (Blackstone, Mass./Worcester Academy) took a faceoff in his zone and beat McGuirk for an unassisted goal, his third of the season.

At the 3:37 mark of the third period, the Ice Dogs evened the score, when Nick Mattiello (Johnston, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) took passes from Kevin Glanzman (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) and O'Kane, for his fifth goal of the season.

Larsen took another in his zone with four seconds remaining in the game, and passed to O'Kane, who beat McGuirk for the game-winner.

Nick Blanchette (Stuart, Fla./Worcester Academy) made 35 saves, and moved to 2-2-0 on the season, while McGuirk made 26 saves in the loss.

The Ice Dogs move to 4-3-1 overall, while the Purple Knights move to 0-4-1 overall.
