Box Score Garden City, N.Y. (September 10) -- Adelphi used a 16-1 advantage in shots on goal to come away with a 6-0 victory over Assumption on Saturday afternoon in the Northeast-10 Conference opener for the Greyhounds.
The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the halftime break before adding to that lead quickly in the second half to put the game out of reach. Adelphi was led by two goals and two assists from Jeanette Heimerle in the victory.
Junior goalie Kristen Manchester (East Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) made 10 saves in the defeat, while Lucia Vigliotti turned aside one shot in the victory.
With the loss, the Greyhounds drop to 0-3 overall and are 0-1 in Northeast-10 play. Assumption is back in action on Wednesday, September 14th as the Greyhounds travel to Saint Anselm to take on the Hawks in a 4 p.m. start.
