Albany, N.Y. (September 11) -- The Assumption men's soccer team defeated The College of Saint Rose, 1-0, as the Greyhounds kicked off their league schedule on Tuesday night. Assumption improves to 2-1, with a 1-0 mark in league play, while Saint Rose falls to 0-4 with an 0-1 record against Northeast-10 Conference opponents.

The Greyhounds notched their second 1-0 victory of the season, this time with Dom Mondi (Peabody, Mass./Peabody) scoring to provide the final margin at the 33:12 mark of the first half. Mondi slipped in from the left flank and put the ball in the lower right corner of the net for his first goal of the season.

Freshman Dana King (Windham, Maine/Windham) earned his second shutout of the season. This time the freshman turned away four shots, getting his second win of the season.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 15 as the team will play host to UMass-Lowell. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Multi-Sport Stadium in Worcester, Mass.
