Burlington, Vt. (January 6) -- The Assumption College ice hockey team dropped a 3-2
decision to Saint Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference action at the DoubleTree Ice Hockey Classic on Sunday evening.
After two scoreless periods, the action picked up in the final frame as the teams combined to score five goals.
Saint Michael's College raced out to a 2-0 lead in the third period on goals by AJ Pieprzak and Kevin Altidor.
Assumption, which falls to 2-12-1 and 0-3-1, received goals from sophomore all-tournament honoree Trevor Plante (Blackstone, Mass./Mount Saint Charles Academy) and freshman Alex Erban (Attleboro, Mass./Mount Saint Charles Academy). Junior Bobby Bowden (Springfield, Mass./Williston Northampton School) made 44 saves for the Greyhounds. Sophomore Brennen Shaw (Presque Isle, Maine/Brewster) had two assists in the loss.
The Greyhounds return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Salve Regina. The game will begin at 7:35 p.m.
