Greyhounds Fall to Stonehill at Foxboro Sports Center

Foxboro, Mass. (November 13) -- The Assumption College ice hockey team dropped a 3-0 final to Stonehill College at the Foxboro Sports Center on Wednesday evening.

After a scoreless first period, the Skyhawks struck twice in the second period as Dan Graham got the scoring started for Stonehill with just under 10 minutes to play in the second. Willy Baker added a goal with less than a minute left in the period to extend the margin to two.

Robbie Dorgan added an insurance goal with less than five minutes remaining in the third period for the 3-0 final.

Sophomore Chris Hemhauser (Old Saybrook, Conn. / Worcester Academy) turned away a career-high 48 shots for the Greyhounds in the loss while Chris Tasiopoulos made 20 saves for Stonehill.

The Greyhounds were strong on the power play, holding the Skyhawks without a goal on five attempts while Assumption was unsuccessful on its lone power play attempt.

The Greyhounds fall to 1-2-1 on the season and are 0-1-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play while the Skyhawks improve to 2-2-0 overall and are 2-0-0 in league play.

Assumption is back in action on Saturday, November 16th for a non-conference game at Babson. The game will begin at 4 p.m.
