Box Score New Haven, Conn. (September 18) -- The Assumption College men's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie against Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday evening.
Sophomore goalkeeper Dana King (Windham, Maine / Windham) made 10 saves while posting his third shutout of the season. The 10 saves are the most King has made in a shutout in his career, while he posted a 12-save effort in a loss to Southern New Hampshire University on September 6, 2012.
Senior Jose Paulo (Sao Paulo, Brazil / LaSalle Academy) took a team-high six shots, including three on target as Assumption took 18 total shots, including seven on net. The Owls took 20 shots, while putting 10 of them on King.
Assumption now sits at 2-1-1 on the season, with an 0-1-1 mark in Northeast-10 Conference play while the Owls sit at 1-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in league play.
The Greyhounds are back in action on Saturday, September 21st for the home opener against Merrimack College. The game will begin at 3 p.m. in Worcester, Mass.
