Worcester, Mass. (November 4) -- The Assumption men's ice hockey team fell to Westfield State on Tuesday night at Buffone Arena by a narrow score of 2-1. Senior Trevor Plante (Blackstone, Mass. / Mt. St. Charles) tallied his second goal in as many games on the evening for the Hounds' lone goal in the match.

After the first period rendered both teams scoreless, the squads emerged in the second on fire. It was Westfield that struck first on a shot just 26 seconds into the period by Maxime Richard. Just 25 seconds after the Owls opened the scoring, Plante ripped a shot past Westfield keeper Jonathan LoParco for the equalizer. Plante, who was assisted by junior Pat Trainor (Auburn, Mass. / Auburn), tallied his second goal of the season on the play. He also scored in Assumption's season-opener on Saturday.
The tie lasted for six minutes until Westfield's Josh Finkelstein notched another for the Owls, the eventual game-winner.
