- The Lead: On Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference play, No. 8 ranked Assumption dropped a 4-2 final at No. 7 ranked Adelphi. The Panthers built to a 4-0 lead before the Hounds scored two late goals to account for the 4-2 final.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Adelphi took a 1-0 lead at the half as Lena Pollich scored her ninth goal of the season as she deflected in the ball off an assist from Molly Cuevas.

- The Panthers built the advantage up to 4-0 midway thru the second half before the Hounds struck for a pair of goals. Senior Taylor Chase (Holden, Mass./Wachusett Regional) scored her third goal of the season, beating the goalie from the right. Sophomore Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn./Haddam Killingworth) scored the team's second goal with 3:07 remaining as she got the assist from junior Andrea Koslowski (Warren, Mass./Quaboag Regional).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Adelphi outshot the Hounds by an 18-9 margin and also held a 10-4 edge in penalty corners.

- Assumption is currently ranked No. 3 in the first NCAA regional rankings, with Adelphi checking in at the top spot and Merrimack sitting at No. 2.

- Sophomore Bridget Boyle (Stow, Mass./Nashoba Regional) made three saves in net for Assumption in the loss, while Amanda Gargiulo had five stops in the win for the Panthers.

UP NEXT:

- The Hounds are back in action on Saturday, October 31st as the team hosts Bentley University for a Noon start as the program will honor the six seniors prior to the game as part of Senior Day.
