- The Lead: Led by a pair of goals each from sophomore Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn./Haddam Killingworth) and senior Kiley Colucci (Gloucester, R.I./St. Mary Academy), the Assumption College field hockey team ran its winning streak to six straight with a convincing 4-1 road win over No. 7 ranked Stonehill College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Hounds got on the board just 4:40 into the game as Sheahan tipped in a shot that began off a corner for her fourth goal of the season. Stonehill's Erika Kelly tied the game for the only time as she knocked in her own rebound for her 10th goal of the season.

- Colucci tallied twice in the win, including the eventual game winner just 1:07 into the second half. Sheahan added her fifth goal of the season at the 43:12 mark, followed by Colucci's fifth goal of the year with 3:19 remaining in the game. Colucci's goal came off a rebound as the Hounds finished the game with 14 shots overall.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- The Hounds are now on a six-game winning streak, which is the first six-game streak for Assumption since the 1997 season. Today's victory over the Skyhawks is also the team's first win over Stonehill since 2006.

- Stonehill a 17-14 overall advantage in shots and a commanding 8-2 edge in penalty corner opportunities.

- Sophomore Bridget Boyle (Stow, Mass./Nashoba Regional) made eight saves in net for Assumption in the win, while Sara Freedman had six stops in the loss for the Skyhawks.

- Today's opponent marks the fifth game against a nationally-ranked opponent this season as the Hounds are 4-1 in those matchups.

- Assumption now sits alone atop the Northeast-10 at 5-0 in league action as the Hounds are the lone team undefeated in league play.

- Colucci now stands at 90 career points with 32 goals and 26 assists. She is now just two points shy of the Assumption career point scoring record, which is held by Hall of Famer Anne Mingolelli `01.

- The Hounds are back in action on Monday, October 5th as the team travels to Dowling for a 4 p.m. non-conference matchup. The game is the final non-conference contest of the regular-season for Assumption.
