HOW IT HAPPENED:

Leading 15-11 after one, the Hounds extended the lead up to 26-15 midway thru the second quarter after a Stoddard three and took an eventual 31-29 edge into the half after a late three from Gaudreau in the final seconds cut the advantage to just two.

- In a slow-starting fourth quarter, freshman Morgan O'Donnell (Easton, Mass./Ursuline Academy) put the Hounds back in front on a layup with 4:39 remaining and the score at 51-50. A Carey three just over two minutes later pushed the lead back to four, but the hosts hung around and kept within striking distance.
- Burud's layup with 1:04 left cut the Assumption lead to 56-54 and the Purple Knights had a chance in the final minute. Three Saint Michael's chances were off target in the last five seconds as the Hounds remained unbeaten and improved to a perfect 4-0 overall.
