THE BASICS:

- Score: Saint Anselm 3, Assumption 2 (RESUMPTION OF THE GAME FROM 9/9 THAT WAS SUSPENDED DUE TO LIGHTNING)

- Location: Manchester, N.H. (Grappone Stadium)

- The Lead: The Assumption College field hockey team dropped a 3-2 final on Wednesday night to Saint Anselm in a game that was resumed with 20:59 remaining after a lightning suspension last week. Senior Sarah Frahm (Salem, N.H./Salem) scored for the Hounds in the comeback attempt came up just short for Assumption.

- Sophomore Bridget Boyle (Stow, Mass./Nashoba Regional) finished the game with five saves in the loss, while Saint Anselm netminder Katherine Sears had six saves for the victory.

- Overall, Assumption held an 18-10 advantage in shots, while Saint Anselm was an 11-9 leader in penalty corner chances.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Each team found the back of the net in the opening minutes of the game, including an Erin Collins goal for Saint Anselm at the 5:06 mark for the early 1-0 Hawk lead. Assumption answered just 56 seconds later as sophomore Amanda Frank (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) scored her first collegiate goal as she was assisted by senior Allison Juneau (Auburn, Mass./Auburn).

- The Hawks took the 2-1 lead into the halftime break after Colleen Sears scored with just over 11 minutes left in the period. Saint Anselm's Katie Neyland added to the lead early in the second before the game headed into the delay and eventual suspension.

- Assumption's Frahm tallied her second goal of the year for the Hounds in the resumption with just 4:57 remaining before the visitors dropped the 3-2 non-conference final.
