THE BASICS:

- Score: Le Moyne 1, Assumption 0 (2OT)

- The Lead: It was scoreless through regulation and nearly two full overtimes before Le Moyne forward Seth Scarano tapped home a loose ball in the midst of a scrum at the net with just seconds remaining to escape with a 1-0 victory on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Neither team could find the net in the opening 45 minutes, though the Le Moyne out shot the Hounds in the first half 6-3. The Hounds came out more agressive in the second to equal the Dolphins at seven shots apiece. The visitors did have two corner kicks in the final five minutes of the half but the Assumption defense held strong.

- Le Moyne controled the first overtime with three shots and multiple corner kicks, though they were unable to break down the defense.

- Assumption came out agressive in the second overtime and earned multiple free kicks inside midfield, but was unable to put anything on net.

- With time winding down in the second overtime, the Dolpins put a free kick on net and goalie Brian Murray (Camas Wash./ Camas) went up to make the save. He made contact with an offensive player on his save attempt and the ball was knocked free, allowing Scarano to quickly fire it in with just 13 seconds left, before the defense could react.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

- Le Moyne finished with a 17-10 edge in shots, as well as totalling two more corner kicks than Assumption.

- Hound goalkeeper Murray made four saves in his eigth loss of the season, while Matt Perry earns his first save and first shutout of the season.

- Freshman Simon Trcka (Prague, Czech Republic/ Thornton Acad) had two shots for the Hound offense along with teammates Matt Gilson (Cumberland, R.I. /Mount Saint Charles Academy) and Alex Moschella (Miller Place, N.Y./ Miller Place).
