THE BASICS:

- The Lead: Assumption fell behind 3-0 before scoring twice in the second half, but the Hounds were unable to complete the comeback, resulting in a 3-2 loss to Adelphi on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Just 8:32 into the first half, Adelphi scored their first goal of the game off a corner when Elissa Frein drove the ball from the top of the circle through the Hounds defense.
- The next goal of the game was in the 27th minute. Elizabeth Mercuri made a move around Sarah Bodzinski (Southwick, Mass. / Southwick Tolland Regional) to score on the open net making the game 2-0.
- To start the second half Adelphi scored their third goal of the game when forward Lena Pollich tipped in a shot from Frein off a corner.
- The Panthers would not score again, and junior Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn./ Haddam-Killingworth) scored the first Assumption goal. She took a shot from the top of the circle that just snuck past Panther goal tender Amanda Gargiuloto cut the deficit to 3-1.
- In the 57th minute the Hounds came within one when freshman Kristen McCarthy ( Danvers, Mass. / Danvers) scored off a cross from teammate Sam Tepper (Stroudsburg, Pa. / Stroudsburg).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Bodzinski made five saves in the loss, while Gargiulo made seven to record the win.
- The Panthers out shot the Hounds 7-4 in the first half yet they both had three penalty corners. In the second half Assumption took control out shooting the Panthers 10-4, and had a 6-3 advantage in penalty corners.

- This Saturday at 11 am the Hounds are on the road to play Bentley for their last regular season Northeast-10 Conference match up.
