HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Hounds got on the board at 10:01 as Dante Tomassini (North Branford, Conn. / Connecticut Jr. Wolfpack (EHL)) fired a shot that bounced off the goalie's pads and Mike Sorenti (Sagamore Beach, Mass. / Archbishop Williams (MA HS)) was there to bat home the puck for his first goal of the year.
- With just 1:09 left, Paul Amarone (Hamden, Conn. / Trinity-Pawling (Prep)) extended the lead to 2-0 as he finished off a rebound in front, with the assists to Tommy Mahoney (Braintree, Mass. / Boston Bandits (EHL)) and Matt Dameilo (Rochester, N.Y. / Northwood (Prep)).
- Midway through the second, Assumption converted on another power play goal as the Hounds put a shot on net and Cam Laughlin (Natick, Mass. / Portland Jr. Pirates (USPHL Premier)) picked up the loose puck on the rebound and put it in the open net. Dameilo and Gomez picked up assists on the play.
- Junior Matt Cowles (Farmington, Conn. / Avon Old Farms (Prep)) led off the third with a power play goal just 1:14 into the period for a 4-0 advantage, but Post responded with two goals in the next eight minutes of the third period to cut the deficit in half, 4-2.
- Cowles stopped the bleeding with his second goal at 9:23 in the contest off assists from Robert Roche (Holden, Mass. / Tri City Storm (USHL)) and Laughlin.
- Daniel Moore scored unassisted at 14:46 to close the gap to 5-3, but the Assumption defense didn't allow another for the two-goal win.
